JUCSU election on Sept 11

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Aug 10, 2025 (BSS) - The schedule for the upcoming Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) Election 2025 was announced today, setting September 11 as the polling date.

JUCSU Chief Election Commissioner Prof. M. Maniruzzaman of the English Department announced the election schedule at 3 pm at the Senate Hall of the university.

The draft voter list will be published on August 10, while the final list will be released on August 17. The deadline for objections to the draft voter list is August 14.

Nomination papers will be available from August 18-19 and must be submitted by August 19. Scrutiny of nominations will take place from August 21-24. The draft candidate list will be published on August 25, with appeals to be resolved by August 27.

The deadline for withdrawing candidature is August 28. The final candidate list will be published on August 29, and campaigning will be allowed from that day until 12:00 am on September 9.

Polling will be held on September 11, followed by ballot counting and the announcement of results at the Senate Hall on the same day.

"We have already sought cooperation from Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh, and Ansar Battalion authorities. They will be deployed on a need basis," said the Chief Election Commissioner.
