ACC public hearing holds in Joypurhat

DHAKA, Aug 11, 2025 (BSS) - The 180th public hearing of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) held in Joypurhat district this morning. 
 
As part of the move to increase social awareness against corruption, the ACC public hearing was held at the Joypurhatv Shilpakala Academy auditorium, said an ACC press release. 
 
ACC Chairman Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen was present as the chief guest at the hearing.
 
The victims of harassment in receiving services or are deprived of services made their complaints before the commission in the presence of all the heads of local government departments of Joypurhat district. 
 
At the same time, immediate decisions were taken by the ACC on the complaints raised by the deprived public. 

The main objective of this public hearing is to eradicate corruption from the country by ensuring access to government services and increasing honesty, integrity, accountability and values among government officials, said an ACC statement.
 
To make sure presence of the commoners in the public hearing, the ACC has already carried out extensive publicity in various media outlets alongside micing, distributing posters, leaflets, setting up booths and complaint boxes in various areas of Joypurhat Sadar for a week to collect complaints.
 
As a result, there has been a huge response to this public hearing at the Joypurhat Shilpakala Academy auditorium.
