KHULNA, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former member of parliament Mia Golam Parwar today said that the legal foundation of the July Charter should be established, and the national election should be organised accordingly.

He said a new form of fascism might be created if elections are held under the existing system.

If people can freely and safely cast their votes, they will elect the forces of Islamic ideology to run the country, he said.

He made the remarks as the chief guest at a rally in Arafat Residential Area under Dumuria upazila in Khulna.

Referring to precedents in Bangladesh's history, he said that the current government must immediately complete the drafting of the July National Charter and implement it, ensuring a free, fair, and acceptable election based on this charter.

Organised by the upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islami, the rally was presided over by Md. Matiur Rahman Hawlader, President of Chakmathurabad Polling Centre Committee of Arafat Nagar.

Conducted by Md. Amir Hossain, President of Ward No. 4, Harintana Thana Jamaat Bangladesh, the programme was also addressed as special guests by Jamaat-e-Islami Central Majlis-e-Shura member and Khulna District Secretary Munshi Mizanur Rahman, Assistant Secretaries Munshi Moinul Islam and Mia Golam Kuddus, and Dumuria Upazila Ameer Maulana Moktar.

Earlier, Golam Parwar spoke as the chief guest at voter rallies at Line Bill Pabla Polling Centre in Rayar Mahal, at Purba Bill Pabla Polling Centre, and at the Khanjahan upazila office.
