Authorities conduct drives against illegal gas connections in Keraniganj, Narayanganj, Savar areas

DHAKA, August 13, 2025(BSS) – Separate drives have been conducted on Tuesday in Keraniganj, Narayanganj and Savar areas to disconnect illegal gas connections and preventing misuse of gas.

During the drive led by the executive magistrates, illegal transmission lines were evicted while illegal gas lines were disconnected and huge amount of fine were realized from the defaulters, a ministry press release said here today.

Two mobile courts in Savar-Ashulia have realized fine amounting to Taka 200,000 and disconnected three illegal commercial connections from Eco Dry Laundry, HP Denim Technology and Green Laundry. 

They also disconnected nine meter less residential connections during the drive.

On the other hand, three mobile courts at Bandar area in Narayanganj district disconnected 30 residential connections at Dhakeshwari road and Jungle Stand Bridge areas and realized Taka 40,000 as fine. 

The teams also disconnected some illegal commercial connections of the area.

Meanwhile, another team led by an executive magistrate has conducted a drive at the Jinjira area under Keraniganj upazila and disconnected illegal connections of three unnamed factories.

During the drive, the team seized three boosters, two pipe burners and 260 feet GI Pipes, the release said adding that similar drives would also be continued in future to this end.
