DHAKA, Aug 14, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Swechhasebak Dal has announced a series of nationwide programs marking its 45th founding anniversary, set to be observed on August 19.

The decision was made at a general meeting of the party's central committee held yesterday, chaired by party President SM Jilani and moderated by General Secretary Rajib Ahsan.

As part of the central program, the national and party flags will be hoisted at 7am at the BNP's central office in capital's Nayapaltan area. This will be followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the mausoleum of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam, at 10am.

Party leaders and activists will also recite Fateha and offer special prayers.

A discussion will take place at 2pm at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in capital's Agargaon area.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to join the event virtually from London as the chief guest.

In addition to the central programs, the Swechhasebak Dal has organised a range of grassroots initiatives across the country.

On August 19, district and metropolitan units will conduct rallies, cleanliness drives, install dustbins and plant fruit-bearing and forest-based trees.

Similar activities will continue the following day, August 20, at upazila and municipal levels.

Central and district-level representatives will be present to oversee and participate in these initiatives.

President SM Jilani and General Secretary Rajib Ahsan have called on all party leaders and activists to ensure proper implementation of the planned programs across all organizational levels.
