ACC asked Munni Saha, her husband to submit wealth statement

DHAKA, Aug 14, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today asked journalist Munni Saha and her husband Md Kabir Hossain to submit their wealth statement to the commission within the next 21 working  days.

ACC Director General (DG) Md Akhter Hossain revealed this to media at a briefing at the commission headquarters here.

The ACC DG said that the commission during its inquiry revealed huge hidden wealth compared to their declared assets and properties.

According to the ACC, Munni Saha has acquired wealth worth about Taka over 13.81 crore till 2024-2025 tax year. 

Of the total, her moveable properties were worth over Taka 1.85 crore and immoveable properties were worth Taka nearly 11.97 crore. At that time, her reasonable income and expenses were worth over Taka 3.24 crore and Taka over 2.5 crore respectively. 

During the period, her net savings amount was over Taka 73.93 lakhs but the ACC investigators found additional amount of money worth Taka over 13.07 crore in her tax return that is contrary to her known source of income.

On the other hand, Md Kabir Hossain, husband of Munni Saha, has acquired wealth worth Taka  nearly 16.68 crore.

Of the total, Taka over 2.12 crore was moveable and Taka nearly 14.56 crore was immoveable properties. 

As per ACC investigation, during the period, his reasonable income and expenditure were worth about Taka 8.17 crore and 83.86 lakhs respectively. 

After the deduction of his expenditure, his savings amount was Taka over 7.33 crore. The ACC during its investigation found additional money amounting to Taka over 9.34 lakhs that is beyond his known source of income.

The ACC DG said that the commission served these notices to Munni Saha and her husband Md Kabir Hossain under section 26(1) of the ACC Act-2004.
