SYLHET, Aug 14, 2025 (BSS) – Ziaur Rahman Foundation Chairman Dr. Farhad Halim Donar has said the foundation has been tirelessly working for the last 26 years for the welfare of mankind.  
 
“Wherever there are sufferings and problems in the country, the foundation visits them. We have been working for 26 years,” he said while speaking as the chief guest in the inaugural programme of a month-long free eye camp at Moulovi Sair Ali High School at Zakiganj in the district. 
 
The foundation has been working for education, medical treatment and scholarships in the disadvantaged groups across the country, including Sylhet.
 
Around 1500 patients both men and women, today received free eye treatment at the 12 booths in the camp.  Fahim Al Chowdhury Trust is cooperating in this connection.
 
Free eye camp will also be held at Jobed Ali High School in Babubazar of the upazila on Saturday, Birdal High School on Wednesday, Hafiz Majumder Vidya Niketan on August 23, Shahjalal Chattaria Madrasa in Kanaighat on August 30, Mulagul High School on September 6, Chatul Haraoil Mohila Madrasa on September 8 and Eidgah Bazar High School in Zakiganj on September 13.
 
Dr Farhad said this free eye camp will continue till September 18 and will provide follow-up treatment in the second phase to patients who received treatment in the first phase.  
 
He said they are planning to give scholarships at the college level in the future. 
 
Fahim Al Chowdhury Trust Chairman, educationist and social worker, Fahim Al Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion. 
 
Under the chairmanship of Fahim Al Chowdhury Trust, Senior Vice President Selim Chowdhury and District BNP Joint General Secretary Siddiqur Rahman Paplu, BNP Chairperson's Adviser Dr. Enamul Haque and Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, BNP Joint Organizing Secretary Miftah Siddiqui, DAB Secretary General Dr. Zahirul Islam Shakil, UAE BNP President Zakir Hossain, Sylhet District BNP General Secretary Emran Ahmed Chowdhury, Ziaur Rahman Foundation's Dr. Parvez, Engineer Mahbub Alam, Professor Dr. Iqbal, Professor Dr. Jasim Uddin, Kanaighat BNP's former Upazila Chairman Ashiq Uddin Chowdhury, Swechchhasebak Dal central leader Delwar Hossain Shahin, Fahim Al Chowdhury Trust Coordinator Shamim Ahmed Chowdhury and Dr. Shakilur Rahman, among others, were present.
 
Leaders and workers of Sylhet district, Zakiganj and Kanaighat upazilas and municipalities of BNP and its affiliated organizations were present at the inauguration ceremony.
