DHAKA, Aug 15, 2025 (BSS)- A Dhaka court today sent three activists of Bangladesh Awami League to jail in connection with an anti-terrorism case.

The accused are former BCL central leaders Moniruzzaman Babu and Rashedul Hossain Bulbul, and Awami League leader Shah Newaj Dalim.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibuzzaman passed the order after police produced the trio before the court and sought their detention until the completion of the investigation.
According to the case documents, the accused, along with other leaders and activists of the Awami League and its front organisations, attempted to stage an anti-government rally in the Fulbaria area under Paltan Police Station on March 26, 2025.

They allegedly chanted anti-government slogans, plotted to undermine the country’s sovereignty, and participated in anti-government propaganda aimed at destabilising the country.

Following the incident, police filed the case with the Paltan Model thana police.
