RANGPUR, Aug 16, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) Central President Md Zahidul Islam has said that the 'fascist structure' developed in the last 15 years in the country has not been broken yet.

“The politicians have become extremely greedy for power by ignoring demands of the martyr's family for implementation of permanent reforms and changes. The political parties are busy with power-centric politics. We don’t support this,” he said.

The ICS President made these observations while talking to media after attending a reception ceremony for the students, who obtained GPA-5 in the SSC, Dakhil and equivalent examinations in 2025 as the chief guest on Saturday.

Rangpur Metropolitan ICS organized the function at the District Shilpokola Academy auditorium in the city with its President Md Nurul Huda in the chair. Rangpur Metropolitan ICS Secretary Md Anisur Rahman moderated the program.

ICS President Islam said that the reforms that were supposed to be implemented by breaking the structure of fascism of the last 15 years did not happen yet.

“As a conscious student organization, we are observing various issues. After talking to the martyr's family, we saw that they also want elections in the country after seeing the reforms and significant and visible trial of the genocide,” he said.

Referring to the July Declaration, he said many important issues have been omitted in the July declaration. Those who contributed to the mass uprising, sent remittances from abroad, online activists and the names of every participant have not been mentioned.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Executive Board Member Mahbubar Rahman Belal, Metropolitan Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer ATM Azam Khan, Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Central Law Secretary Arman Patwari and Business Education Secretary Golam Zakaria, among others, were present.
