Ex-Minister Tipu Munshi's PA Lavlu arrested in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Aug 18, 2025 (BSS) – Police arrested Lavlu Mia, Personal Assistant (PA) of former Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, from his residence in village Madamudan under Kawnia upazila of the district early Monday. 
 
“The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police arrested him at around 2:30 am,” Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali police station Md Ataur Rahman told BSS this afternoon.
 
Lavlu Mia is the son of Taibul Khan of the same village.
 
Lavlu was later handed over to police in a case filed in connection with a clash during a procession demanding release of the central spokesperson of Sanaton Jagaran Mancha and former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari.
 
“After preliminary interrogation, we produced Lavlu Mia before a Rangpur court, from where he was sent to jail this afternoon,” the OC added.
