RANGPUR, Aug 19, 2025 (BSS) - The fourth death anniversary of eminent writer, educationist and founding President of Rangpur Sahitya-Sanskriti Parishad (RSSP), Professor Muhammad Alim Uddin, was observed on Monday night.
On the occasion, a special programme titled "Remembering with Respect" was organized at the RSSP office in the city's Town Hall premises.
President of RSSP Dr. Nasima Akter presided over the event moderated by its General Secretary Mamun Ur Rashid.
Eminent writer and educationist Professor Mohammad Shah Alam presented an article titled "Muhammad Alim Uddin: A traveler on the path of hope".
Cultural personality Dr. Mofizul Islam Maantu, RSSP's former Presidents Hasna Hena Begum Rozi and Swattik Shah Al Maruf, Bangla Academy Assistant Director Abid Karim Munna, writer Zakir Ahmed, and women's activists Manjushree Saha discussed the life, work, and contributions of Professor Alim Uddin in Bengali literature.
Professor Muhammad Alim Uddin's memory was shared by poets and writers Mahbuba Ara Begum Leena, Shahana Parveen Bithi, Noman Ferdous, Tapas Kumar Roy, Hasnain Rabbi, Neel Ratan Sarkar and Nishat Nigar Karobi.
RSSP Adviser and writer Advocate Masum Hasan, life members Khandaker Mahfuzar Rahman, Lutfar Rahman Saju, Ataul Karim Atul and Sarkar Bablu recited self-composed poems dedicated to Professor Ali Uddin.
The recitation of the poem written by Professor Muhammad Alim Uddin was attended by the recitation of the poem by the Poets Niresh Mukherjee, Mehedi Masud, Purnima Raj and Mesbaur Rahman.
Poet Khandaker Mahfuzar Rahman led the prayer, seeking forgiveness for the departed soul.
