Judgement in graft case against Gayeshwar Chandra Roy on Aug 28

DHAKA, Aug 19, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today set August 28 for pronouncing judgement in a graft case filed against BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy.

Judge Md Abu Taher of Dhaka Special Judge Court-3 set the date as both the prosecution and defence concluded their arguments in the case today.

On January 5, 2009, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case for allegedly concealing information in his wealth statements and amassing illegal wealth. The anti-graft body on July 5, 2009, filed a charge-sheet in the case.

The court on February 4, 2010, framed charges and 29 witnesses out of total 47 had testified in the case on different hearing dates.
