Youth electrocuted at Chawkbazar

DHAKA, Aug 20, 2025 (BSS) - A young man was electrocuted at a factory in the capital's Chawkbazar area early today.
 
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain (19), son of Salam Mia, hailed from Bhatpara village of Brahmanbaria Sadar.
 
The accident occurred around 12:30 am today in a bag factory at Nagini Center, Champatli, Chawkbazar, police and hospital sources said.
 
He was electrocuted from an electrical short-circuit and fell unconscious on the floor while punching a bag on a machine, the sources added.
 
Later, his colleagues rescued him unconscious and brought him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead at around 2 am today.
