DMP bomb disposal unit completes training on risky operations

DHAKA, Aug 20, 2025 (BSS) - The Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has completed advanced training on special charge to equip officers with specific skills to conduct risky operations as part of its mentorship training programme. 

In the training, 11 highly complex and risky special charges of various shapes were successfully detonated, which can only be executed by highly trained bomb technicians, said a DMP press release.

Each explosion was cent percent successful in achieving the predetermined target. This training will play an important role in enhancing the practical skills of selecting and applying the right charge in different operational situations.

 The training was conducted by maintaining the highest standards of safety protocols, command and control, the release also said. 

This success of the DMP Bomb Disposal Unit bears witness to their professionalism and commitment to ensuring national security, it further said. 

This training will further sharpen their skills and preparedness, which will help make a significant contribution to handling complex and risky operations in the future, it added.
