CID seizes assets of manpower export syndicate leader Ruhul Amin

DHAKA, Aug 20, 2025 (BSS)- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has attached assets worth about Taka 500 crore of manpower businessman Ruhul Amin Swapon and some other individuals and organizations having link with him

CID attached the wealth of Swapon, ringleader of a syndicate exporting manpower to Malaysia following a court order, a CID press release said. 
 
Ruhul Amin has established a syndicate and amassed wealth of about Taka 8,000 crore by collecting money from a large number of people giving hope to send them to Malaysia with job, said a CID press release.

Ruhul Amin has a total of 231 kathas of land at Bashundhara Residential Area, Banani and Uttara areas of Dhaka in the name of his manpower export organization Catharsis International. 

The deed value of the assets is worth about Taka 15.55 crore while total value of all immovable properties of Catharsis International and related installations is worth about Taka 500 crore, which is belonged to Ruhul Amin.

He laundered huge amount of money abroad under the cover of manpower business, the CID said.

Following a order of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court the Financial Crime Unit of the CID moved for the attachment.
 
The investigation of the CID is ongoing against Ruhul Amin and other members of his syndicate, the release said.
