110 BNP men acquitted in subversion case

DHAKA, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - A court here has acquitted 110 leaders and 
activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), including its Joint 
Secretary General Habib-Un-Nabi Khan Sohel, in a subversion case filed with 
the capital's Ramna Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saifuzzaman passed the order, accepting the 
final report filed by the police in the case on August 21 last.

The other prominent people, who were acquitted by the court, are-- former 
senior joint convener Nabiullah Nabi, national standing committee member Dr 
Rafikul Islam, Swecchasebok Dal Dhaka South unit joint convener Nazrul Islam 
and former president of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Razib Al Ahsan.

Police, on July 26, 2018, filed the case for vandalizing vehicles and 
obstructing law enforcers from discharging their duties in Segunbagicha area 
in the capital. 

On July 15, 2025, police filed the final report on the case.
