DMP files 2,244 cases against traffic rule violations

DHAKA, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police DMP) has filed 2,244 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules during the last one day across the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Monday (August 25) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.

According to DMP's Media and Public Relations Division, a total of 345 motor vehicles were dumped and 136 vehicles were wrecked due to poor driving practices.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
