9 shops gutted in Gazipur fire

GAZIPUR, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) - A massive fire gutted nine shops and a tin-shed house in the Konabari area of Gazipur early this morning.

According to fire service and locals, the fire broke out around 4 am in the Konabari Ambagh Bou Bazar area, reportedly starting from a thatched godown of Chacha Bhatija Enterprise and engulfed the adjacent areas. 

Being informed, four units from Konabari and Gazipur Chowrasta Modern Fire Service rushed to the spot and doused the blaze under control after two hours frantic effort.

Konabari Modern Fire Service Warehouse Inspector Md. Saiful Islam told BSS that the damage was estimated at around Taka 30 lakh.
