DHAKA, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) - Joint forces arrested 11 people on charges of drug dealing and attempted murder, and recovered locally-made firearms during a raid at Geneva Camp in the city's Mohammadpur area last night.

Led by the Bangladesh Army, the drive targeted the notorious "Bunia Sohel Gang," but its ringleader was not found in the area, according to an ISPR release issued here today.

During the operation, a large quantity of drugs, cash, and local weapons were seized from the detainees' possession, the release said.

It added that four of the arrested drug dealers were handed over to the Department of Narcotics Control, while the remaining seven were handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station.

The Bangladesh Army reaffirmed its commitment to establishing peace and ensuring national security, stating that drives against illegal firearms, explosives, and terrorist activities will continue.
