DHAKA, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court carried out a drive in Ashulia and Gorat areas of Savar yesterday, disconnecting a large number of illegal gas connections.

According to a PID handout issued today, the team removed unlawfully installed lines and fittings during the operation.

The drive dismantled around three kilometres of illegal gas distribution lines, severed 700 unauthorized residential burners, and removed 600 metres of illegal pipelines. The operation cut an estimated 14,700 cubic feet of gas load per hour.

The monthly savings from the drive are estimated at 99,902 cubic metres of gas, valued at roughly Tk 1,798,236.

Authorities said similar drives will continue to ensure uninterrupted supply for lawful consumers and curb wastage caused by illegal connections.
