PANCHAGARH, March 20, 2026 (BSS) - As Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest festivals of the Muslims, knocks at the door, 74-year-old Mozzaffar Rahman had fallen into despair after losing his van, only means of livelihood.
As the incident came into knowledge of State Minister for Water Resources and Panchagarh-2 lawmaker Forhad Hossain Azad, he gifted the elderly man a new van ahead of the Eid.
He handed over van to the elderly man at his village home in Menapara of Panchpir Union under Boda upazila today.
Earlier in the day, the minister visited Mozzaffar Rahman’s residence in Bakpur Dangapara village, where he inquired about his condition. On the occasion of Eid, he also provided cash assistance, food items, sarees, and lungis.
On March 13, his van was stolen from Sakoa Bazaar, throwing him severe uncertainty.
The issue came to the state minister’s attention after a Facebook post by local journalist Mahmudul Hasan Babu went viral on social media.
