GAZIPUR, March 31, 2026 (BSS) - Chowdhury Ishraq Ahmed Siddiqui has been appointed as the administrator of the Gazipur Zila Parishad, according to an official notification issued at the order of the President.
The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Khondaker Farhad Ahmed.
Barrister Ishraq Ahmed Siddiqui currently serves as the member secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Gazipur district unit. His appointment has drawn attention in political and administrative circles, with many expressing optimism that his educational background and experience will bring renewed dynamism to the Zila Parishad’s activities.
He comes from a prominent political family. His father, Chowdhury Tanbir Ahmed Siddiqui, was a member of the BNP’s Standing Committee and also served as a government minister.
Local sources indicate that, upon assuming office, the new administrator is expected to prioritize accelerating development initiatives across the district. Key focus areas are likely to include infrastructure development, rural road renovation, and improvements in the education and healthcare sectors, alongside strengthening public service delivery.
