30,395 people receive legal services through Supreme Court legal aid

DHAKA, March 31, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 30,395 people have received legal services at government expense through the Supreme Court Legal Aid.

The information was revealed in a report published on the website of the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO), highlighting its activities from 2009 to February 2026.

According to the report, the Supreme Court Legal Aid formally began its journey on 8th September 8, 2015. From its inception to February 2026, a total of 30,395 beneficiaries received services through the office.

Legal assistance was directly provided in 3,385 cases, of which 2,322 have been disposed of.

The services are being provided at government expense under the Legal Aid Services Act to ensure access to justice for financially insolvent and disadvantaged litigants.

The National Legal Aid Services Organization operates under the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
