DHAKA, March 31, 2026 (BSS) - The members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG),
the maritime law enforcement agency responsible for safeguarding the
country's territorial waters, rescued a fisherman, held hostage by the
notorious robbers of the Sundarbans.

A release signed by BCG Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan
told today.

He said the gang of robbers popularly known as Jonab Bahini held hostage
Mujibar Gazi (50), a resident of Koyra Police Station in Khulna district
earlier.

The BCG release said, based on secret information, the law enforcement agency
conducted the drive at Khurkhuria Canal in the Sundarbans area last night.
