Over 448,456 litres of fuel oil recovered in nationwide mobile court drives

DHAKA, April 6, 2026 (BSS) - Around 448,456 litres of fuel oil have been recovered through mobile court drives conducted across the country to prevent illegal stockpiling and ensure normal supply.

"A total of 6,242 mobile courts were conducted nationwide in the last 24 hours. During the drive, authorities recovered 333,157 litres of diesel, 36,405 litres of octane, and 78,894 litres of petrol," said a press release issued this evening by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources today. 

The drives also led to the filing of 2,456 cases, while 31 individuals were sentenced to imprisonment. Additionally, fines amounting to Taka 12,539,500 were realized through the mobile court operations.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division said such drives would continue to ensure uninterrupted supply of fuel oil and prevent irregularities.

Executive magistrates of the division are regularly conducting mobile court operations in Dhaka and other parts of the country, the release added.

Concerned people have been urged to contact the designated vigilance team numbers if any irregularities or suspicious activities are noticed.
