Two drug traffickers held with 15,000 Yaba tablets in Teknaf

COXBAZAR, April 6, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the Coast Guard have arrested two 
drug traffickers along with 15,000 Yaba tablets, worth approximately Tk 75 
lakh, from Shahparir Dwip in Teknaf upazila of the district.

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon confirmed 
the information this afternoon.

He said that acting on a tip-off, Coast Guard Outpost Shahpari conducted a 
special operation around 12:00 pm today in the Naf River adjacent to 
Nazirpara under Teknaf Police Station in the district.

During the operation, a suspicious wooden boat was searched, leading to the 
seizure of 15,000 Yaba tablets worth about Taka 75 lakh and the arrest of two 
drug traffickers.

He added that legal action over the seized Yaba, the boat, and the detainees 
is underway.

He further said that the Coast Guard will continue such operations in the 
future to prevent drug trafficking.
