Two children die with measles symptoms at RMCH

RAJSHAHI, April 6, 2026 (BSS)- Two children, undergoing treatment with 
measles symptoms, have died at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) 
during the last 24 hour.

The deaths occurred within a 24-hour period from Sunday noon to Monday noon. 
Although hospital authorities confirmed the matter, they did not disclose the 
identities of the deceased children.
 
Hospital spokesperson Dr. Shankar Kumar Biswas said 20 new patients with 
measles symptoms were admitted to the hospital during the past 24 hours.
 
During the same period, five patients were discharged from the measles 
isolation ward. Currently, 138 patients are undergoing treatment.
 
Since the outbreak began, a total of 411 patients have been admitted to the 
hospital. 

Among them, 42 have died. Most of the deceased children were from different 
areas of Chapainawabganj district.
