56 arrested in 24hrs drive in Tejgaon

DHAKA, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 56 individuals were arrested during special operations in the past 24 hours conducted by the Tejgaon Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

According to a police press release, the drive was carried out on Tuesday as part of routine efforts to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities in the capital.

Among those detained, seven were arrested in connection with regular cases, nine in connection with previous cases, and five were held based on outstanding arrest warrants.

Additionally, 35 individuals were arrested under provisions of the DMP Ordinance.

Police said the drive targeted individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities across areas under the Tejgaon Division.

Officials from the Tejgaon Division stated that such drives will continue in the coming days to ensure public safety and maintain stability in the law and order situation.
