JASHORE, April 21, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 154 students with special needs are participating in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations under the Jashore Education Board began today.

The board authorities have arranged special facilities to ensure a supportive examination environment for these candidates.

Jashore Board Examination Controller Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Matin said that, based on applications submitted by heads of institutions, 154 candidates have been granted an additional 45 minutes to complete their exams.

Furthermore, 24 of these students have received special permission to use shruti writers (scribes) to assist them during the examination.

Headmaster SM Rabiul Islam of Badshah Faisal Islamic Institute in Jashore said that two students from his institution with special needs were granted the extended time after a formal application was submitted to the board.

Similarly, Md. Mustafizur Rahman, a teacher at Abdul Gafur Memorial Academy, confirmed that one of their special needs examinees has been approved for both a scribe and additional time.

Earlier, it had been announced that students with special needs would receive an extra 30 minutes during exams. However, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Matin said that, in accordance with official rules, these students are now being provided with 45 minutes of additional time.

Education officials and institutions have expressed optimism that these measures will enable students with special needs to complete their examinations more comfortably and perform to the best of their abilities.
