Five more die of measles, measles like symptoms

DHAKA, April 23, 2026 (BSS)- One person has died of confirmed measles and four more have died of suspected measles in the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release sent from the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today. 

It said that the number of suspected measles patients in the last 24 hours is 1,170 and the number of suspected measles patients from March 15 to April 23 is 28,334.

The number of confirmed measles cases in the last 24 hours is 125, bringing the total number of confirmed measles cases since March 15 to 4,059. 

From March 15 to April 23, 18,845 people were admitted to hospitals with suspected measles. During the same period, 15,728 people recovered and were discharged from the hospital.

Besides, 39 people have died of measles since March 15, while 194 people have died of suspected measles since March 15. 

During this period, the highest number of 12,578 people was infected with suspected measles in Dhaka Division. Of these, 2,724 people have been infected with measles.
