CHATTOGRAM, July 1, 2026 (BSS) – In an effort to modernise and enhance operational security, Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) Chairman Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman today officially opened a new One-Stop Service Building, constructed at a cost of Tk 80 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, the CPA chairman said the previous service centre, located inside the port area, required thousands of daily visitors to enter restricted zones, creating significant security and access control challenges.
By relocating the facility outside the main port area, these risks have been reduced, improving both safety and accessibility for the public.

Constructed at an approximate cost of Tk 80 crore, the new facility complies with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, marking a significant achievement in the port’s adherence to international security standards.
The building is expected to generate around Tk 5 crore in monthly rental and service revenue, helping recover the construction cost quickly. The construction of the project began in 2022.

Designed with public convenience in mind, the building includes a reception area on the ground floor, a token distribution system on the first floor, and banking booths on each floor to facilitate financial transactions.
