3 more die of suspected measles; 902 new cases reported in 24 hours

DHAKA, July 08, 2026 (BSS) - Three more children have died from suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, while 902 new measles cases were reported during the same period, according to a press release issued today by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here.

According to the release, the number of suspected measles patients recorded in the last 24 hours stood at 796, while the total number of suspected measles cases from March 15 to July 8 reached 108,180.

During the same period, 106 confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total number of confirmed measles cases from March 15 to July 8 to 13,070.

Since March 15, a total of 91,270 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals.

During the same period, 87,628 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

The release said three deaths from suspected measles were reported in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths of children from suspected measles to 652 from March 15 to July 8.

The total number of deaths from confirmed measles since March 15 remains at 93.
