DHAKA, March 2, 2025 (BSS)- Dhaka Premier League (DPL), the country's most coveted tournament, is all set to kick off tomorrow (Monday) with three matches across the city.

Three venues-- Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) and BKSP-3 and 4-- will be used as the venues for the league in which a total of 12 clubs from Dhaka will take part.

Defending Champions Abahani Limited will take on Agrani Bank Cricket Club at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Club to kick off the league. Mohammedan Sporting Club, which is believed to form a most formidable team, will lock horns with Gulshan Cricket Club at BKSP-3 ground while in the day's other match Prime Bank Cricket Club will face off Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club at BKSP-4 ground.

The trophy was unveiled in this regard on Saturday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium where captains of all 12 teams were present.

Terming the DPL as the spine of the Bangladesh cricket, Mohammedan captain Tamim Iqbal said this traditional and oldest league of the country has been bread and butter for almost all cricketers in the country.

"I always think DPL as the spine of our cricket," Tamim said. So I hope it will be another successful outing in all perspectives, be it umpiring or be it cricket."

A total of 27 matches will be telecast live in T-sports. Apart from it, 83 matches will be streamed live in T-sports digital.
