DHAKA, March 2, 2025 (BSS)- Despite their win-less run in the Champions Trophy, Bangladesh earned a handsome amount from it.

Bangladesh finished sixth in the tournament and thereby earned US$ 4.75 lakh (Tk. 5.76 crores approximately).

Each team was already guaranteed US$ 1.25 lakh for participating in the competition. Bangladesh managed to add US$ 3.50 lakh further to their tournament balance after England finished their campaign by losing all three of their matches.

England's seven-wicket defeat to South Africa yesterday confirmed that Bangladesh will end in sixth position in the tournament. They moved to the semifinal of the last Champions Trophy in England in 2017.

After losing all three matches in their group, England languished at the bottom table in the eight-team tournament.

Bangladesh lost to India and New Zealand before their game against Pakistan was washed out without a ball being bowled. Courtesy to the washed-out game both Bangladesh and Pakistan earned a solitary point but based on net run rate, Bangladesh edged the hosts Pakistan for sixth position.
