Jessore, Satkhira win in national kabaddi

DHAKA, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - Host Jessore district and Satkhira district won their respective opening men's and women's division matches of Rupsha zone National Kabaddi Championship that has begun in Jessore gymnasium today, marking the Festival of Youth 2025.

Seven teams in the women's division and five teams in the men's division are participating in the competition, divided into two groups.

In the men's division, Jessore district beat Meherpur district by 71-19 points while in the women's division Satkhita district defeated Kushtia district by 34-20 points.

Earlier, Jessore Deputy Commissioner Md Azharul Islam formally inaugurated the competition as the chief guest. 

This year's National Kabaddi Championship is being organized across eight zones nationwide. Prior to the Rupsha Zone matches, competitions in the Padma, Teesta, and Brahmaputra zones were successfully concluded.
