DHAKA, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS)- The Independent Inquiry Committee, constituted to
examine allegations of corruption, mismanagement, and systematic failures in
the 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has submitted its
preliminary report to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president on Tuesday
evening.
In line with the international best practice and ICC guidelines, the BCB
emphasizes that the report will be reviews in strict confidence and through
proper processes, the BCB said in a press release.
The board reiterated: "Any individuals or entities mentioned in the report
remain subject to due process under the BCB Constitution, the ICC Anti-
Corruption Code and applicable laws."
"At this stage, no names will be disclosed publicly, in order to protect the
integrity of proceedings and the rights of all concerned," the release added.
The BCB will carefully review the Committee's recommendations and consider
appropriate steps in due course.
The board also noted the preliminary report has proposed a series of urgent
reform measures as a prerequisite to the proper holding of the next edition
of the BPL, covering franchise governance, anti-corruption oversight and
structural safeguards.
The Inquiry Committee is expected to submit its final report by the end of
the next month, which will include comprehensive findings and structural
reform proposals.
"At this stage, the BCB will not make any further comments on or in relation
to the preliminary report," the release concluded.
