Khulna, Jhenaidah emerge champions

DHAKA, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS)- Khulna and Jhenaidah districts emerged Rupsha zone champions in the men's and women's division respectively of National Kabaddi Championship (men's and women's) that concluded in Jashore gymnasium today (Thursday).

In the men's division final, Khulna district beat Satkhira district by 41-22 points while Jhenaidah district defeated Narail district by 24-17 points in the keenly contesting women's division final match.

Jashore district Deputy Commissioner Md Azharul Islam was the chief guest in the finals and distributed the prizes.

Former president of Jashore Kabaddi Parishad Abul Bashar and former additional general secretary of Jashore District Sports Association Aksad Siddiqui Shaibal were present as special guests in the closing ceremony. 

Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation treasurer Monir Hossain and former captain of Jashore District Cricket Team Mahatab Nasir Palash were also present in the prize distribution ceremony.

Seven teams in the women's division and five teams in the men's division are participating in the Rupsha Zone, divided into two groups. 
The Dhanshiri zone of Barisal of the national kabaddi championship will commence later stage. 

It can be mentionable that this year's National Kabaddi Championship is being held by dividing eight zones across the country. Before the Rupsha zone, the competition of Padma, Teesta and Brahmaputra zone were successfully completed.
