DHAKA, Aug 29, 2025 (BSS)—Middle order batter Shahadat Hossain Dipu resisted the South Australia bowlers to prevent Bangladesh A from another batting collapse on Day 2 of the solitary four-day game at DXC Arena in Darwin, Australia today.

At stumps, Dipu was batting on 42 to lead Bangladesh A to 106-3 as his side is trailing by 160 runs to make South Australia batting again in the game. The local team was bundled out for 380, in reply to Bangladesh A’s 114 all out in first innings.

Trailing by 266 runs, Bangladesh A started its second innings and lost opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy (4) for single digit figure and No.3 batter Amite Hasan for duck, that left them two wickets down in three overs with the scoreboard reading just 6.
As another batting slump like first innings looked on the cards, Dipu stood tall and got ably support from opener Iftikhar Hossain Ifti.

Together they shared 69 runs for the third wicket before Wess Agar broke through with the wicket of Ifti who made 35.

Dipu along with Yasir Ali Chowdhury then steered the side through another torrid period to keep the side unscathed until Day 2.

Yasir was batting on 18 when the bails were drawn.

Earlier, resuming the day on 205-5, South Australia were able to add 175 runs before being all out for 380.  Jason Sangha who started the day with 83, completed his century and made 143 before Anamul Haque ended his 235-ball-marathon knock.

Another overnight unbeaten batter Harry Nielsen was denied a century by offspinner Hasan Murad as he was dismissed for 86. Henry Thornton was the other notable scorer with 46. 

Anamul and Murad claimed three wickets apiece for Bangladesh A while Hasan Mahmud picked up two.
