JAMALPUR, Aug 30, 2025 (BSS) - Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gold Cup Football tournament began at Freedom fighter Abdul Hakim stadium in the district town this afternoon.

Secretary, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperative Ministry, Md Rezaul Maksud Zahedi inaugurated the tournament as chief guest while Deputy Commissioner, Hasina Begum presided over the event. 

Superintendent of Police, Syed Rafiqul Islam and President, Mymensingh Divisional Football Association, Abdullah Al Fuad Reduan spoke, among others, at the opening tournament. 

Eight teams divided into two groups are taking part in the tournament organized by Jamalpur District Sports Association under the auspicious of Jamalpur District Football Association.

On the opening day, Melandah Upazila eleven defeated Jamalpur Sadar Upazila eleven team by 3-2 margin.
