DHAKA, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to hold its election in the first week of October.
BCB director and Cricket Operations Committee Chairman Nazmul Abedin Fahim confirmed the news after the 21st Board Meeting held in Sylhet today.
"We have taken a decision to hold the election in the first week of October but the specific date of the cricket body will be announced by the Election Commission," Fahim told the reporters in Sylhet.
The Election Commission has not yet been officially formed but Fahim said everything will be finalized within a couple of days.
"The recommendations have already been made, and a three-member commission will be finalized very soon. We expect it to be announced within the next two to three days," Fahim further said, adding that the responsibility of forming the commission has been left to the BCB president.
The board approved IMG as the marketing partner of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for the next three years.
The board formed a four-member committee to review the BPL findings and
provide recommendations to the BCB, with legal experts assisting on
compliance issues.
The board also decided not to extend the contract of Julian Wood beyond
September 3. If needed later, he will be brought back again.
