Rain interrupts Bangladesh's charge against Netherlands

DHAKA, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS) - The third and final T20 between Bangladesh and Netherlands was interrupted by rain after the hosts batters made fluent start to the match in a bid to sweep the series.

Put into bat first, Bangladesh which made five changes to the squad by resting several first choice players got a whirlwind start thanks to captain Liton.

Liton who opened the innings was batting on 42 after playing just 16 balls as Bangladesh reached 60-1 in 4.1 overs before the rain halted the game. Towhid Hridoy was on 3 with Liton.

Saif Hasan who opened with Liton after regular two openers Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon were rested made 12 before being dismissed by Kyle Klein.

Bangladesh also rested Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Mahedi Hasan. 
Nurul Hasan Sohan found his place in the playing XI and would play his first T20 match after two years. Along with him, Shoriful Islam, Saifuddin, Rishad Hossain and Shamim Patwari returned to the playing XI in place of those five players.

Bangladesh made sweeping changes in a bid to give all players a chance to have some genuine match practice ahead of the Asia Cup.

Bangladesh, however, took an unassailable 2-0 lead against Netherlands following their eight-wicket and nine-wicket victory in the first two matches.
