BCB forms election commission for upcoming polls

DHAKA, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a three-member election commission on Saturday to oversee its Board of Directors Election.

Mohammod Hossain, senior advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, was named as the chief election commissioner.

Md. Sibgat Ullah, BPM, PPM, Additional Inspector General of police and chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), was appointed as election commissioner. 

The executive director (Joint Secretary) of the National Sports Council was nominated as election commissioner, according to a press release from the BCB.
BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul earlier said the election is likely to be held in the first week of October, but the specific date will be announced by the election commission.
