Bangladesh U19 suffer 4-wicket defeat in 2nd match

DHAKA, Sept 8, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Under-19 team tasted a four-wicket 
defeat to their England counterpart in the second game at Loughborough, 
England today.

Having won the game, England Under-19 side leveled the five-match series 1-1 
following their 87-run defeat to visiting Bangladesh youngsters in the first 
match.

Electing to bat first, Bangladesh put on 272-9, riding on half-centuries from 
Rizan Hossain who made 57 and opener Rifat Beg who scored 51.

Captain Azizul Hakim Tamim was the other notable scorer with 41 while Al 
Fahad was not out on 25 after giving the side a late impetus.

England rode on opener Isaac Mohammed's six-laden century to outshine 
Bangladesh.

Mohammed smashed six fours and nine sixes in his 95 ball-104 runs knock as 
England overhauled Bangladesh's total in 43.1 overs, losing six wickets.

Mohammed and his opening partner Joseph Moores added 68 runs in 10 overs for 
the opening stand to give the side a flying start. 

After Moores dismissal on 34 ball-47, Mohammedan got support from Ben Mayes 
(30) and JA Nelson (35 not out) and sealed the deal with quite ease.

The third match of the series is on Wednesday in Bristol.
