BOA mourns death of Mohiuddin

DHAKA, Apr 21, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Syed Mohiuddin Ahmed, joint secretary of Bangladesh Boxing Federation (BBF) and an international boxing coach and referee.

Former professional boxer Mohiuddin breathed his last today (Tuesday) at around 11:30 am due to cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment at a city hospital. 

He was 66.

Mohiuddin served the BBF in various developmental roles for a long period. With his death, the country's sports arena has lost a skilled organizer and a dedicated sports personality.

In a condolence message, BOA President and Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman and Secretary General Jubaidur Rahman Rana, along with officials and employees of the association, expressed deep shock and sorrow at his death and conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
