DHAKA, April 21, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former professional boxer, renowned referee and experienced coach Syed Mohiuddin Ahmed.

In a condolence message, he said Syed Mohiuddin Ahmed was a shining star in Bangladesh's boxing arena, whose contributions would be remembered with respect throughout his life.

Aminul said Mohiuddin Ahmed played an important role in popularising boxing in Bangladesh and in enhancing the country's image at the international level.

He added that the loss of the veteran boxer has created a void in the country's sports arena, particularly in boxing which would not be easily filled.

The state minister said Mohiuddin Ahmed's dedication and commitment to boxing would continue to inspire the new generation of athletes.

He expressed hope that future boxers would follow his path and bring greater glory to the country.
