DHAKA, May 11, 2026 (BSS)-Mohammedan Sporting Club continued their unbeaten
run in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) with a mammoth 200-run victory over
Rupganj Tigers, while Abahani Limited secured their first win of the season,
crushing Brothers Union by 166 runs in the reserve-day matches affected by
rain.

Mohammedan completed a dominant performance after posting 345-6, thanks to
opener Naim Sheikh's explosive century at the ULAB Cricket Ground.

Naim smashed 145 off 136 balls with five fours and 12 sixes to register his
11th List A hundred.

Rupganj Tigers resumed on 53-5 after rain halted play yesterday, but their
resistance lasted only 18 overs on the reserve day. They were eventually
bowled out for 145 in 34.5 overs.

Sajeeb Mia top-scored with 36 off 75 balls for Rupganj. Fast bowler
Mrittunjoy Chowdhury starred with the ball for Mohammedan, claiming five
wickets, while Rishad Hossain took three.

Abahani Limited also wrapped up a comprehensive victory over Brothers Union
at BKSP-2 ground.

Abahani had scored 283-6 before rain interrupted the match yesterday, thanks
to half-centuries from Mahidul Islam Ankon (83), SM Meherob Hasan (77) and
Mosaddek Hossain (62 not out off 40 balls).

Brothers Union resumed on 49-1 in 12 overs but failed to build on the
promising start. They were dismissed for 117 in 35.5 overs.

Opener Zahiduzzaman made 40 off 58 balls, but none of the other batters could
offer substantial support. Khaled Ahmed, Rakibul Hasan, Soumya Sarkar,
Mahfuzur Rahman shared the wickets for Abahani.

The victory was Abahani's first in three matches and lifted them to seventh
place in the standings. Mohammedan moved to the top of the table with three
wins from three matches, while Prime Bank remained second on net run rate
despite having the same six points.
