500 flood-hit families in Feni receive Red Crescent supports

FENI, March 16, 2025 (BSS) - The Red Crescent distributed special assistance packages today to 534 flood-hit families in Baligaon union of Sadar upazila here in the district.

Zia Uddin Ahmed Mister, vice chairman of the Red Crescent's Feni unit, distributed the packages as the chief guest at a ceremony held at the union parishad premises at 10:00am.

Each assistance package included 12 bath soaps, eight laundry soaps, one packet of sanitary pads, five packets of toilet tissue, one toilet brush, one nail cutter, two tubes of toothpaste, five toothbrushes, one bottle of hand wash, two refill packs of hand wash, one bottle of coconut oil, one comb, and a towel, said Zia Uddin.

Sheikh Farid Bahar, executive member of the Red Crescent, attended the event as a special guest.

Abdul Halim Julhas, deputy youth chief-1, moderated the event, which also featured speeches from union parishad administrator also upazila resource officer Khalilur Rahman, Red Crescent executive member Russell Chowdhury, unit level officer Abdul Mannan, union BNP convener Obaidul Haque Ayub and member secretary Kazi Kamrul Hasan.

The Red Crescent has already distributed Tk 6,120 to 520 families each in the union.
