Two robbers arrested in Khagrachhari

KHAGRACHHARI, Mar 15, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested two members of a robber group from Matiranga in Khagrachhari district early today.

The arrestees were identified as Naim-Al-Sultan, 31 and Md. Yousuf Prokash Kala, 35.

Police super of the Khagrachhari district Arefin Juwel said, the robbers were arrested in connection with a dacoity in the house of one Manjur Islam of Matiranga Paurashava on March 4.

Police claimed that they also recovered some weapons and lock breaking gadgets used in the dacoity in addition to four mobile phones, two bangles, two earrings, a shopping bag and Taka 35,000 after raiding house of arrested Naim at Muslimpara area of Matiranga Paurashava.
 
Police super Arefin Jewel said, the arrestees are also accused in a number of criminal cases in Noakhali and Laximpur district.

Efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the robber group and recover the remaining looted goods, police said.
