2 terrorists held with arms, ammunitions in Khulna

KHULNA, April 03, 2025 (BSS) - Police has arrested an illegal arms dealer and a notorious terrorists from the city early today and recovered huge fire arms and ammunitions from their possession.

Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) said the terrorists were arrested from Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) when they admitted to the hospital after a gunfight with another rival group.

Police said the gunfight took place at Bangalbari Road under Harintana police station in the city last night, said Ahsan Habib, additional deputy commissioner of KMP.

The arrested persons were identified as Khairul Sarder, 27, son of Sabur Sarder of Khataltola village in Dumuria upazila and arms trader Faruk Hossain, son of late Abdul Khaleque of Pirojpur.

Police recovered two foreign pistols, a shotgun, seven cartridges, eight rounds of pistol bullets, one empty cartridge and a large machete from the house of Faruk.

Police also seized a Runner motorcycle and a mobile phone, which were allegedly used in illegal arms trading.

Faruk admitted that he is involved with illegal arms trading, said ADC Habib.
