Snakebite kills woman in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, June 15, 2025 (BSS) - A woman died after being bitten by a 
poisonous snake in Betka area under Tongibari upazila of the district this 
morning.

The deceased was China Mandal, 45, wife of Panat Mandal of the same area.

Locals said a venomous snake bit him while she was sleeping at her house in 
the area around 4 am.

She was rushed to Munshiganj General Hospital but on-duty doctors referred 
China Mandal to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as her condition 
deteriorated. 

"She died on the way to DMCH," said Dr. Shaibal Basak, a doctor at the 
emergency department of Munshiganj General Hospital.
